What is Beaches Dial–a–Ride?

Dial-a-RideWe’re a Not-For-Profit Organization (501c3).
Dial-a-Ride is a privately funded service providing transportation to the elderly and disabled in the Beaches community who may otherwise remain “homebound”. For more than 25 years a Dial-a-Ride bus has been transporting your parent, your neighbor, or your friend and allowing the elderly and handicapped in our community to maintain some degree of independence when they are no longer comfortable or able to drive. Nearly everyone at the Beach knows someone who has benefited from, or will need this service in the future.

In 2008, Dial-a-Ride made more than 7,800 trips for more than 450 clients and the numbers keep growing . Dial-a-Ride operates with one bus, two part time drivers, two part time dispatchers and a handful of dedicated volunteers.

Dial-a-Ride transports to and from the following, just to name a few:
  • Doctors Offices
  • Banks
  • Mayo Clinic
  • Beauty Shops
  • Drug Stores
  • Library
  • Grocery Stores
  • Post Office
Dial-a-Ride has well-served the Beaches Community and now NEEDS YOUR HELP!
Even if you can't join us for BOWL-TO-ROLL, please share this information with your family and friends and consider a tax-deductible donation which will help us to maintain this valuable service.
