CHRYSALIS – FREEDOM.

At Chrysalis, we work hard each day to help women find freedom. Freedom to become people of value, to emerge from addiction, abuse and alienation, and to realize themselves as God’s unique creations.

A SAFE HOME.

In response to the overwhelming needs of women released from prison who were seeking life change, Marsha Tennyson founded Chrysalis Transitional Living in the fall of 2001. In the years since, Chrysalis has helped women take the necessary steps away from their former destructive lifestyles and toward independence by teaching, nurturing and requiring accountability. Each woman who chooses to live at Chrysalis receives a stable home environment, a nightly family dinner, volunteer mentors and case managers, job and life skill training, and celebrations for birthday and holidays. All of this is accomplished in an environment of structure, understanding, support, and encouragement. The women participate in weekly life skills classes, observe curfews, share in maintaining the household, attend a religious service of their choice each week, and submit to random drug testing.

We are excited for our Chrysalis Bowl-A-Thon 2010! With the funds raised from our event, each and every person will be participating in helping return these daughters, mothers, and sisters to their families with newfound and lasting freedom!
