Purpose To raise money to help Paul and Alison Palmer pay the medical bills they’re incurring due to ongoing treatments for their 7-year-old son, Jackson, who is battling a very rare and aggressive cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor. Additionally, Paul and Alison will to donate 5% of what is raised to cancer research.
Game structure
- Pinheads will provide 18 lanes for bowling (similar to 18 holes in a golf scramble).
- Each team is made up of four people which includes a team captain.
- A shotgun start will be used, which means a team will start at any one of the 18 lanes.
- Every team bowls each of the 18 lanes once and records each team member’s score. Then, the team picks the person’s score they want to use as the team’s score for that lane (“hole”). Rule: each team must use every player’s score three times.
- One lane will be designated the “bowl in one” (hole in one) lane. If any player gets a strike on this lane, his/her name will be entered in a drawing for a prize at the end of the game.
- At the end of the Scrambowl, prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams. Any ties will be broken via a scorecard count-back starting with lane 18.
- A prize will be awarded to the top individual score, so keep your individual score too! Any ties will be broken via a scorecard count-back starting with lane 9.
- Mulligans will be sold for $5 each. Each team is limited to four mulligans total for their team. The mulligan can be used as a “do over.”
