About Jackson Palmer

Paul and Alison Palmer of Fishers, Indiana, are in the second year of a journey to heal their eight-year-old son, Jackson, who was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive cancer called desmoplastic small round cell tumor. Jackson’s ongoing treatment is expensive, and as you can imagine, they’re utilizing every possible medical option available to heal Jackson.

Paul recently resigned from his job to stay home with Jackson as he recovers from his numerous chemotherapy treatments. A pending treatment will be so toxic it will take him 3-6 months to fully recover, and he’ll need to be in isolation during that time. Since Alison carries the insurance, it is critical she continues to work.

So, in addition to the medical costs they continue to incur, they’re now losing Paul’s income. Yet, they realize they’re not the only family facing cancer, so they’ve decided to donate 5% of all money raised at the bowl-a-thon to cancer research in hopes of preventing other families from having to face a similar situation.

Jackson is a very special boy who is loved more than he will ever know. He likes anything to do with Spiderman, Teen Titans and Ben 10. He also enjoys playing board games, Play Station 2, and playing outside.

He always has a good imagination, and he and his younger sister, Olivia, (now six), like to make up little scenarios when they play together - such as one of them is the “Mom” and the other is the “kid” and they're going to the Nickelodeon Hotel in Florida for vacation.

Jackson is currently in the second grade, and when he’s able to attend, his favorite part is recess! :-) He does well in school and enjoys it.

He spent time at Rough River Lake in Kentucky where his Palmer grandparents have a cottage. This summer he learned to water ski and had fun being pulled on the tube behind the Seadoo.

He also went to Cocoa Beach, Florida to stay at his Becker grandparent’s condo where he spent a liitle time in the ocean but really prefered the condo complex’s swimming pool!

We appreciate all of the continued prayers, support and love
we’ve received since Jackson was diagnosed. Thank you to everyone!
